Updating Student Records by Batch Year

Instead of manually editing student records one at a time, you may update existing student records by batch, thus easing updating of student records. This feature, which is available from the Students menu, is particularly useful for updating student records after a change in their status.

For example, when a new school year begins, students who are scheduled to graduate in 2018 will see a change in their status from sophomores to juniors. At the same time, since it is the beginning of the new school year, these students will have a new adviser/teacher. You can use the Batch Update feature to change the grade of all sophomores to juniors, and to change their teacher from Ms. Jane Doe to Mr. John Doe.

To update student records by batch:

1. Click Students>Batch Update.
2. On the Update Batch page, select the old grade and old teacher, then the batch year to update.
3. Select the new grade and new teacher, then click Update.

You can also update two or more batch years at a time. To do this, on the Update Batch page, click the Add more batches link on the upper right, then repeat Steps 2 and 3 above.

NOTE: Classes, batch years, and teachers are saved and can be viewed from a student record's School History tab.
